Waiting for spring. bird in a tree with spring grass and blue sky. Silhouette of a tree and bird.
Anticipation of Spring This bead starts with a base of white, stringers of blue light grass green and dark grass green, then it is encased in clear. I then draw on the grass, trees and birds in black. I wanted top evoke the lovely green of the hills where I live in winter, while we are waiting for the appearance of spring and it's abundant flowers. Once the rain starts, the hills turn a vivid green, before the trees start to sprout and before the wild flowers, it's a beautiful wash of green in the hills.

I handcraft each glass bead in my studio with a torch and immediately put it into a digitally controlled kiln to stabilize or anneal the glass. Annealing usually happens overnight.
